Sorrento's Italian Bistro: Authentic Italian Dining in Banner Elk

We traveled from Florida for Valentine’s Day and this restaurant (highly recommended to us!) completely exceeded expectations! Despite a few minor hiccups early on, the manager August went above and beyond to make everything right—he personally checked in, ensured we were taken care of, and turned the night into perfection. We felt so valued and pampered. At the bar, Juliana was fantastic—she was warm, attentive, and made our whole experience amazing with her great energy and recommendations. Then came the highlight: Juliana suggested we try the desserts with Felix, and wow—what an incredible show! Felix put on an amazing performance (tableside magic!), and the desserts were delicious and unforgettable. We highly recommend this place—you won’t be disappointed! The service from August, Juliana, and Felix made our Valentine’s Day special and memorable. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area.

My grandparents were Sicilian and I have eaten all over the world, this place is as good as any Italian American restaurant I've been to. The people make this place extra special. Thank you for making us feel at home!

We took my son here for his birthday dinner. I had the rigatoni, my wife had the crab cakes, son and his girlfriend both had the halibut daily special. I love Italian food and I'm picky about it. The rigatoni was incredible (I added meatballs). I tasted my wife's crab cakes and they were delicious. Coconut shrimp appetizer was amazing, and my son and his girlfriend loved the halibut. My wife and I split a pistachio cheesecake, son got the chef's table brownie and there was enough for everyone to have a taste. Everything was excellent and I over ate to the point that I thought I might get sick (my fault, I'm a glutton). It's a drive for us to get there, but worth it and we'll be going back.

I have many great things to say about this place! First, the setup is very nice and unique! This location has a split level with two restaurants and an awesome live music area facing it! The design is very well done. Our server did a great job explaining the menu as we were first timers! We ordered the chicken Francese and salads to par. The chicken was very juicy and the sauces and capers paired well with the meal. The garlic bread for the table was the BOMB and next time we’ll try for dessert. Until next time Sorrentos!

Absolutely amazing ! Jumbo meatball was insanely good. Shared it with 4 people total and was plenty. Great flavor and presentation was beautiful. Had the chicken parm for dinner and best friend for the Parmesan crusted halibut- we split each! The fish was cooked perfectly and tasted great The chicken parm was enough for both of us and we had left overs! Our server was wonderful and did a great job explaining the specials and was quick with anything we needed. The host took our photo when we left and was so sweet! Our bar tender was a little short and not very personable but still made great drinks for our small group Was there to celebrate a birthday and this was some of the best food I’ve ever had Would recommend to anyone in or around the banner elk area !

Second time coming here and the meal was great! We had the appetizers: artichoke and mozzarella. Artichoke was so good! Mozzarella was ok, but the marinara sauce made up for it! Had the veal francese- AMAZING!

We were just passing through, and were looking for a place to eat. From the moment we got to Sorrento's to the last second we spent, the service was impeccable and so was the food. The Veal and Cjocken Marsala were probably the tastiest I've had. So was the lentil soup. We'll be back soon!
